About Skooby Do's and Don'ts K-9 Trainers

People often say . . . "I wish I could get my dog to do that!"

Well, you can . . . with Skooby Do's & Don'ts K9 training.

As professional dog trainers with many years of experience training and working with young puppies and law-enforcement dogs, we know how to teach your dog and you how to get your dog to do what you want him or her to do.

Our goal is to teach dogs - - and their owners - - how to get dogs to listen and be obedient.  Our team has extensive experience working with many different types of dogs, from puppies to hard-headed and difficult to handle dogs.  We tailor the training of each dog to the method of training that will work best for your dog.

While we emphasize training through praise, rewards, and positive reinforcement, we also understand that some dogs require corrective measures to get them to listen and obey their owners.

"Your canine best friend is our priority"

Our team of trainers,  Darren, Walt, Uli, and Rich,
are all current or recently retired police K9 handlers with more than 70-years of combined K9 training experience. Each trainer has at least 15-years of experience training dogs, and together, we have trained more than 200 dogs.

We are all certified K9 trainers through The United States Police Canine Association and MCOLES. Our dogs have won many awards (as indicated by the photo), including a United States Police Canine Association National Champion in detector work in 1999 and a 15th place finish in 2004.  Our dogs have been awarded Top Dog awards in the State of Michigan and regionally, including parts of Canada.  Not only have our dogs won many awards, but so also have many of the dogs that we have trained.

One of the tests that we must pass every year for the USPCA (United States Police Canine Asssociation) is an obedience test. We cannot be certified if we fail to pass this test. In all the years that we have been doing this, we have never failed to pass, and many times we have been ranked in the top 3 of all of the police dogs competing. Many years, one of us has won the obedience test.

Scheduling flexibility to suit your needs

Our schedules are flexible and we can provide training most days of the week, evening, and weekends.

Both one-on-one and group training sessions are available.

One-on-one training ensures that 100% of our attention and focus will be on you and your dog.

We are also available day or night to answer questions for our clients.

Group session are available upon request and your whole family is welcome to participate so your dog can learn consistent commands. It is important for dog owners to practice daily what they will learn in the training sessions so that your dog learns consistency.

At the end of each phase of training, there will be a proficiency test, and those that pass will be given a certificate.  Remedial training is also available so every owner and dog can achieve success.
